Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil’s president, criticizes social isolation measures, while in Brazil the number of people infected and killed by COVID-19 increases.

After news that Brazil had reached a record number of deaths caused by the deadly virus, President Bolsonaro, strongly criticized the isolation measures, saying they would bankrupt the country and leave the state without money to pay the public sector.

Brazil is now the sixth most-infected country in the world and has become the epicenter of the pandemic in the Americas.
