Nelson Teich, Brazil’s Minister of Health, resigned at the end of the week, just a month after President Jair Bolsonaro fired the previous health minister.

The news was announced by the Ministry of Health in a brief statement, as in recent weeks Teich had several disagreements with Bolsonaro over the use of anti-malarial drugs to treat COVID-19.

He would be the second minister to leave the post, for confronting the South American president who has strongly criticized the social distancing measures.
