At midnight on March 17th the international airport of el Salvador, san Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdamez, closed all commercial flights operations, as part of the preventive measures to minimize the impact of COVID-19.

President Nayib Bukele announced the decision and said that commercial flight operations will be closed for 15days, which could be extended depending on the evolution of the pandemic that is affecting the world at this time.

All commercial Airlines were notified, so that they could readjust their operations and flight plans. This measure was announced by the Government as part of their plan to prevent the virus from entering the country and so far, has had good results.

In El Salvador, there is no confirmed case yet and for the benefit of all Salvadoran people, the health cabinet Is monitoring the crisis closely.
