The Government of Costa Rica declared of national interest the scientific work of the state-run Clodomiro Picado Institute, aimed at developing a plasma-based serum to treat the COVID-19 in seriously ill patients.

The Costa Rican government said the information will be shared with the world in a free database of the World Health Organization (WHO).

“It is an innovative research worldwide, but very promising, which is why we give it our full support. The technology and what is generated here will be part of Costa Rica’s contribution to the world,” said Carlos Alvarado, President of Costa Rica.
