After two months of quarantine due to COVID-19, the easing of confinement measures relieved those New Yorkers affected by claustrophobia.

Governor Andrew Cuomo unannounced additional measures that ease the state’s restrictions on gatherings, although the weather did not favor those who love groups of people and beaches.

Reducing the state’s daily death count to less than 100 seemed almost impossible several weeks ago, the governor said. That figure considered a lagging indicator, had remained persistently high amid other signs of encouragement.
