Betania, one of the most remote Amazonian communities, suspects that the Coronavirus arrived this month, according to members of the Tikuna tribe.

This happened shortly after some members of the tribe returned from a two-hour boat trip on the Solimoes River to collect the money given by the country’s government.

Meanwhile, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro continues to strongly criticize the social isolation measures and maintains a laid-back approach to fighting the pandemic.
