Over fifty doctors and health experts who spent two months fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy, returned to Cuba, and were welcomed as heroes.

Flags, flowers, and a teleconference message from President Miguel Diaz-Canel welcomed the 36 doctors, 15 nurses and one support specialist who made up the medical brigade.

In addition, health authorities announced that for the ninth consecutive day, no COVID-19 deaths were reported in Cuba.
