Fifteen years ago, Delta Airlines arrived in Nicaragua on its inaugural flight from Atlanta. Fifteen years later, the airline ceased operations in the Central American country.

Delta’s manager of strategic communications for Latin America and the Caribbean, Elizabeth Ninomiya, said the airline was suspending operations indefinitely and that the harsh decision would also affect Mexico.

The Central American country has been singled out for its lack of transparency in handling the pandemic.
