El Salvador’s Government Issues decree to extend confinement until June 6th

President Nayib Bukele’s government issued Executive Decree 26, based on the Health Code, to extend the home quarantine until June 6th. 

The purpose of the decree is to continue working on stopping the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, based on reports from the Ministry of Health, as the number of cases increases.

«We are coming to the end of a quarantine period, and it is necessary to extend that period so that people remain at home, taking care of their health and their families,» said Ernesto Castro, Private Secretary of the Presidency.
