On a flight arriving from Tapachula, Mexico, 41 Salvadorans returned to the country after being abandoned by the Mexican authorities in that city while attempting to make their way into the United States.

Alejandra Hill, Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed them back at El Salvador’s International Airport. She explained that they were left on their own at the border between Guatemala and Mexico.

From the moment the Minister received the news about the stranded Salvadorans, preparations began to bring them back to the country. Actions like these are carried out as part of the government’s efforts to support its citizens abroad.
