Customs and borders from El Salvador and Guatemala reopened the crossing between both countries in the most important entry points.

After tropical storm Amanda’s impact on the region, both countries closed their borders, it was not until assessing and verifying that crossing points and bridges between them were in optimum conditions, that the borders reopened.

According to the Association of Fruit & Vegetable Importers and Exporters of El Salvador, since Sunday, May 31st, more than 50 trucks carrying fruits and vegetables from Guatemala to El Salvador were stranded at the border due to the closure caused by the emergency. Finally, after reopening the borders, all the products entered the country.
