Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will have to be present at the opening of his trial, as confirmed by a court in Jerusalem.

The Prime Minister had asked to be exempted from the process, in response to a request made by the Ministry of Justice requiring his presence.

However, Netanyahu’s opinion is not legally binding; it was the Jerusalem court that decided that the Prime Minister must appear in court.
