The General Directorate of Penal Centers of El Salvador, increased measures in the country’s seven high security prisons, where gang members are imprisoned.

Part of the measures include, sealing of cells in order to block any type of communication between gang members.

“This measure will be carried out for an indefinite time and no cell will have a view. They will be sealed, and inmates will not be able to have eye contact” explained Osiris Luna, Vice Minister of Justice and Public Security and ad honorem director of Prisons.
