As part of El Salvador’s economic reopening plan, Phase 1, authorities from Nayib Bukele’s government verified various establishments in San Salvador. The objective: to verify the compliance of health protocols.

The Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, and the Ministry of Finance’s Vice Minister of Income, Alejandro Zelaya visited the different restaurants. In this first phase, it is allowed for restaurants to sell both takeout and home-delivery.

The head of Tourism stressed that this sector has been one of the most affected by the pandemic, being among the first to close and the last to open in this recovery plan.
