Sao Paulo state, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in Brazil, will allow some businesses to reopen as of June 1st, reported the governor, despite the fact that the number of infections continues to rise.

Gov. João Doria said that confinement orders would remain in effect until June 15th for the state that is home to 46 million people, but some of the economic activities will be resumed.

The regions suitable for reopening are those that show a relatively slow daily increase in cases and have enough beds available in intensive care units.
