Thirty million dollars in a strategic reserve is the investment made by the government of president Nayib Bukele to guarantee food security for the people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The minister of agriculture and livestock Pablo Salvador Anliker, announced that more than one million four hundred thousand quintals between corn, beans and rice will be stored as a strategic reserve if local production scarce.

“The president wants to have a strategic reserve in case any sector of our production is affected by the disease. We would have all that available for the Salvadoran people, if necessary” said the minister.
