The Inter-American Press Association condemned the attacks, arrests, and threats that journalists have suffered while covering the protests against the death of George Floyd in the United States.

Christopher Barnes, president of the Society, said in a statement, «While journalists know the risks they are exposed to during the coverage of social protests, in many cases they became the target of police and protesters.”

Several journalists have been injured or have been in difficult situations because of their work.
