The U.S. State Department issued a document certifying El Salvador as a country that may continue receiving aid from the United States.

The certification under the International Aid Appropriations and Related Programs Act for 2020 relates to nine specific criteria, including the fight against corruption and impunity, and also assesses programs that increase transparency and strengthen public institutions.

In the last year, El Salvador’s evaluation changed to a positive one, because when President Nayib Bukele took office, aid to El Salvador was on hold, this is an achievement for El Salvador.
