The United States government issued a ban on travel between the United States and Brazil because of the impact that the Coronavirus has had on the South American country.

Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement that the ban applies to foreigners who have been in Brazil in the 14 days before they sought to travel to the United States.

Brazil has reported more than 347,000 cases of COVID-19, second behind the United States in the number of infected people, according to a Johns Hopkins University count.
