One of New York’s leading police unions accused politicians and journalists of denigrating them and treating their agents as «animals and thugs.”

«Everyone is trying to embarrass us. Legislators, the press. They’re all trying to make us ashamed of our profession,» said union representative Mike O’Meara.

The cops said to stop treating them like animals and thugs, and that this whole political campaign being used by legislators makes all the positive work done by the police invisible.
