WhatsApp continues to expand its reach. This week the company launched WhatsApp Payments, its digital payment service, in Brazil. In a first stage, this service will be compatible with debit and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) from Banco do Brasil, Nubank and Secredi.

Users in Brazil will not have to make any payments for this service. However, companies will pay a small fee for processing the transaction on WhatsApp Business.

Facebook has not yet disclosed the fee that companies will have to pay. But it is expected to be a cost similar to the fees companies receive when conducting credit card transactions.
