Through the first lady’s office and the ministry of foreign affairs, president Nayib Bukele highlighted the work of 18 young Salvadorans who are assisting nursing homes in Berlin, Germany, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These young Salvadorans travelled last December to Berlin, joining a three-year training program to prepare themselves as Nurse Specialists in Elderly Care. At the time when the pandemic hit the European country, these Salvadorans decided to stay, work as nurses and help the German authorities, following all the necessary hygiene protocols for their safety.

“They are an example for each and everyone of us” said the minister of foreign affairs Alejandra Hill.
